Bhagavad Ramanuja did not rest at laurels. He wanted to give more to fellow humans. To know more intricate meanings and implications, he is again in search of a GURU. He went to Periya Nambi and asked "Bhagavan, I am able to get the oppurtunity to serve Lord Ranganatha. You have explained many things to me at Madhuranthakam. I want to give MORE to the world. Please grace me". Periya Nambi recognised the ARTHI in Ramanuja and explained to him the intricate meaning of Dwaya manthram. After that he directed Ramanuja to go to TIRU KKOTIYUR. He should approach Gosti Poorna, a again another great scholar, who will explain Tiru manthram and Charama slok
Ramanuja went to Tirukkottiyur (Gostipuri) and saw Tirukkotiyur Nambi. He did saastangaam and said "I am dasan. Please give me the intricate meanings of Tirumanthram and charama sloki". Gosti Poorna was impressed with Ramanuja, but did not give any indication. He wanted to test before revealing the meanings. The ARTHI (Craving) is important for understanding the phylosophy. So he asked Ramanuja "Not now, come again". Ramanuja went a secondtime, but invain.
Ramanuja went back to Periya Nambi and reported the failure. But later explained the meanings are so great, that he should have patience. Ramanuja went back and again requested. This process repeated for 17 times. One day Lord Ranganatha was kind to Ramanuja and asked Gosti Poorna to explain to ramanuja. Gosti Poorna agreed as he is satified with the ARTHI. He called Ramanuja alone only with DaNDAM and PAVITHRAM as the meanings are sacred and secret.
But Bhagavad Ramanuja went along with Daasarathi and Kuresan.Gosti Poorna was angry and asked why he came with TWO more persons. Ramanuja explained Daasarathi is Dandam for him, as he clears all arguments of scholars, before they approach Ramanuja. Kuresan is his Pavithram as he is SADHU, OBEDIENT and UNATTACHED. So he never leaves them.
Gosti Poorna agreed and told TIRU MANTHRAM in the ears of Ramanuja and conditioned that is should not be revealed to any otherwise risk to go to hellRamnuja announces Tram to ALL risking himself to go to hell. Ramanuja was at bliss having received the Tiru Manthram. He reflected that he had waited LONG for this upadesam, what about common men. This manthram is only way for getting moksham and it should be available to ALL
On the way BHAGAVAD RAMANUJA climbed a
TIRU MATHROPADESAM WAS DONE TO ALL. One swamy went to Gosti Poorna and annonced the news. Gosti Poorna summoned Ramanuja immediately and asked explaination. Ramanuja was fearless and humbly explained. "Sir, what if even I go to HELL, when so many are benefitted to take Tirumanthram and go to Lord's Lotus feet". AT this Gosti Poorna was immensly GLAD and embraced RAMANUJA and repeatedly called him EMBERUMANAR.
